Peter Sengl
Sengl's pictures mirror our society's orientation towards materialism and sex. Cheerful people submissively let themselves be joined up with screws, penetrated by rods, assembled. They are pulled into contorted positions by bandages and do not seem to notice it. The first impression is quite jolly - but the laughs are soon over. The titles of the pictures are ambiguous and absurd too - Hinterkopfbeweißung, De Sades Juliette deproportionieren (Dreipunktlecken) or Kreuzgummi - the hope of some explanation rapidly fades away.
Peter Sengl is represented by the Galerie Gerersdorfer.
